One in three European exchange debuts in Q3 2010 took place on the WSE.
The Warsaw bourse ranked first in Europe in terms of the number of debuts in Q3 2010, according to the latest IPO Watch Europe study published by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
From July to September 2010 a total of 32 companies debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (3 on the WSE Main List and 29 on NewConnect). The number of new listings increased significantly compared to the first two quarters of 2010 (15 debuts in Q1 and 25 debuts in Q2) and to the third quarter of 2009 when 9 companies debuted on the Warsaw bourse.
Warsaw’s leading position in Q3 2010 is due mainly to the NewConnect market which saw 29 debuts from July to September 2010. Alternative markets operated by the London Stock Exchange (AIM) and the bourse in Luxemburg (EuroMTF) took ex aequo the second place with 12 new listings.
The WSE ranked fourth in Europe in terms of the value of the offerings in Q3 2010.
