Barlinek has a 65% share in the domestic floor market, and current production potential stands at a level of 9m m2 per annum. Other significant fields in which the Company is active are production of natural veneers, skirting boards and wood pellet.

In 2003, having at its disposal the biomass formed from sawing and processing large amounts of wood in our own sawmills, the Company commenced production of pellets in Barlinek. Production of this granulate soon turned out to be the best way of disposing of this biomass which is a by-product of technological processes taking place during the manufacture of floorboards and veneers. This is why it was decided to invest in pellet production plants on the sites of Barlinek's new factories, to dispose of this biomass formed from sawing wood. In 2008, a second granulate factory was opened in Vinnycya in Ukraine, where the Company opened a plant producing Barlinek Floorboards. The third and latest pellet manufacturing plant came into operation in June this year in Kosiv, also in Ukraine, where the Group already operated a sawmill. The Company's newest investment increased Barlinek's production of this ecological granulate by 20% to 150,000 tons per year. The pellet factory in Kosiv was built in a record time. This was possible thanks to the great experience of the employees. Every new Barlinek's plant producing granulate has been built faster than the previous one and is more advanced. In the newest factory, the pellet is produced from sawdust and woodchip formed when wood is sawn in our sawmill. Pellet production allows practically 100% use of raw materials and maximises profit margins. The plant which has come online is thoroughly modern and applies technical solutions developed by the world's leading manufacturers. A low-temperature drying room operates in the factory, which does not cause the quality of dried wood material to deteriorate, unlike the combustion ovens still in general use. An appropriately constructed production line enables wood pellet to be packed both for industrial consumers (in 1-tonne big-bags or sold loose) and wrapped for wholesalers and retailers (in 15 kg and 25 kg bags). The packing line is equipped with automatic paletting and water-resistant foil wrapping the packed products. The technology used by Barlinek is some of the most advanced applied in fuel granulate production in Europe It uses innovative design and engineering solutions, and is notable for its high productivity.

The Barlinek Group is Poland's largest manufacturer of pellet. Its plants concentrate the entire production process in one site. The raw wood material is processed on the same premises, effectively guaranteeing full quality control and completely economical use of the raw materials. The top quality of Barlinek's pellet has been singled out by the award of the DIN CERTCO certificate recognised throughout the world. Barlinek has been awarded a prestigious DIN certificate and many other distinctions for its pellet. By means of various advertising campaigns, the manufacturer is popularising the still insufficiently widely recognised idea of creating heat from biomass. Barlinek has implemented a new standard of customer logistical service based on delivery of 1 tonne to any part of the country. The Company has also launched a professional phone support line for customers seeking information about pellet. A special website www.pelet.com.pl has also been created to communicate with potential customers. Barlinek also conducts advertising campaigns in the specialist press and websites.
